There are a few people who wanted to have a place for family to come and remember, but it was not practical to do a traditional burial, or they had alternate plans for the cremated remains. The solution was to obtain a space in the cemetery and have a permanent grave stone placed. That way there is a place where loved ones can come to reflect and remember.
Over the last 35 years working in the funeral industry one of the comments I’ve heard often is from those whose family members did not choose to create a place. They missed having the ability to go and remember, leave flowers or even have a conversation.
